Motivation

The motivation for this research arises from the limitations of current packaging and delivery systems for sensitive cosmetic ingredients such as retinoids, which are highly prone to oxidation and rapid degradation. Conventional container designs often fail to provide airtight sealing, leading to loss of efficacy and reduced shelf life of the active compound. At the same time, consumer demand for safe, stable, and effective formulations continues to grow, requiring solutions that combine functional materials with reliable mechanical performance. Therefore, this work seeks to develop advanced structural and material strategies—such as snap-through mechanisms and optimized sealing systems—that can ensure stability, prevent leakage, and extend usability, ultimately enabling safer and more effective delivery of active cosmetic ingredients.
